Charlie’s Neighbourhood Slice Shop Opens on the Ormeau Road

Forward South has opened their new building - commissioned through the Vacant to Vibrant Scheme

It has been amazing to see so much love and support for Charlies on the Ormeau Road. OGU have worked for several months with the team to develop a beautiful crafted inspired by its neighbourhood. OGU Architects have led the architectural design and fit-out of Charlie’s, a new neighbourhood slice shop on Belfast’s vibrant Ormeau Road. The project transforms a ground-floor unit in the Curzon Building, located beside The Pavilion and The Errigle Inn, into a warm and inviting destination for the local community.

OGU worked closely with local chef Marty Duggan to shape a space inspired by the casual pizza culture of London, New York, and Dublin. The fit-out design focuses on creating an atmosphere that feels authentic and familiar—an easy-going place where people can drop in for a slice and a beer.

We all live in the area and we thought it important that the space felt like it was a space set in Ormeau with materials selected to be familiar and informal. The amazing food makes continues to contribute to Belfast’s growing independent food scene.

Great food and the queue out the door has not stopped since it opened!
